Traditions and culture run deep in the veins of the Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Salzburger Sportworld locals. They are celebrated with the Traditions and Customs Time, Village Festivities, Marketplace Concert as well as culinary and Church festivals.

Brauchtum in Altenmarkt
A highlight of Summer in the Hills is the art and culture aspect alongside being out in nature. In August, Altenmarkt hosts the Cultural Summer programme with a small but discerning selection of events to entertain guests and locals alike on a higher level. Every year, the street theatre, farmer's satirical cabaret, art exhibition, films, readings and music are included in the programme.
Throughout the Harvest Festival Time, you can enjoy folk music and traditions evenings, farm festivals, Mass on the Mountain or harvest thanksgiving celebrations. In Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, they pick a new motto every year but they keep the old favourites such as the homecoming parade, with the beautifully decorated cattle, living handicrafts in the marketplace, the farmers' satirical cabaret, and the musical afternoon. The local inns and restaurants celebrate autumn with culinary delights with local produce and game.

Almabtrieb im Salzburgerland
"Natura in Motion", "Natura Creative" and "Natura Extreme" promise to make your holiday exceptional. These weeks run through the summer giving package deals that include hiking, creativity and adventure in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee under the motto „Inspiration for the Senses".
