You can even explore this wonderful mountain landscape from horseback or using a ski lift. Here everyone can do as much as they want, with options to suit every ability.

Families love the themed trails such as the "Country Lores Trail", a circuit on the sunny-side of one of Altenmarkt's hills that leads you through the forest and has 22 information boards that tell you how weather was predicted in the olden days. Another trail is the "Path of the Moon" in Zauchensee that explores the myths and facts that surround the moon and the other heavenly bodies. There are even telescopic star-gazing sessions in the evenings that take you on a tour of discovery. 

From the end of June to mid September, the lift in Zauchensee is open to bring you easily and comfortably up to the Gamskogel mountain hut where you can enjoy impressive views at 1900m above sea level. Then you can enjoy a walk up to the lake or along the ridge before returning to the hut for a well-earned treat!

The Salzburger Sportworld Hiking Bus brings you to the start of a wide variety of hikes for just € 1,- per journey when you show your Salzburger Sportworld guestcard that you get for free from your host.
