Travel Directions to Altenmarkt

The Hochnössler alm address is: Bifangweg 28, A-5541 Altenmarkt im Pongau

Due to its central location in the heart of Salzburger Land and the easy access via the A10 motorway from Salzburg   Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is the ideal place to stay when you want to visit the area with its wonderful range of tourist attractions.

Arriving by car:

If you are using GPS, please note that Altenmarkt reallocated its house numbers into a much more logical system in 2014 so not every GPS has the new numbers. Our new address „Bifangweg 28“ is not recognised by older GPS systems so please try "Palfen 183" instead if that is the case.

We are very easy to find from the A10 motorway: 

Take the „Knoten Ennstal“,  exit, marked "GRAZ/ALTENMARKT" (Bundesstraße 99). After that drive past the first Altenmarkt exit at the Laudesbach hotel to the junction marked Zauchensee,  after the railway, come in to town and turn left at the church and Marketplace towards Zauchensee, approx 1km later after the sign at the end of Altenmarkt turn left on to the Rettenbachweg, drive up, straight on to the Bifangweg and follow the signs to the Hochnössleralm. it is approx 4km up the mountain so even though it is kept well cleared in winter, chains and a full winter kit are essential!

Arriving by Train:

Salzburg - Bischofshofen; change on to the Selzthal line; The slower local trains stop at Altenmarkt but the intercity trains only stop at Radstadt (4 km away)
